Comparison of pandapower with Digsilent PowerFactory
Based on the pandapower website: "The pandapower itself is tested by over 250 tests. To ensure that pandapower load flow results are correct, all pandapower element behavior is tested against DIgSILENT PowerFactory or PSS Sincal. There is a result test for each of the pandapower elements that check load flow results in pandapower against results from commercial tools."

The article [1] compares the commercial DIgSILENT PowerFactory and PowerWorld and open source packages (pandapower and MATPOWER), by performing power flow by using the Newton-Raphson method on the WSCC 9-bus standard models (standard and modified with added wind generation). In conclusion, it states that "non-commercial software packages are currently offering an alternative solution to study power flow and renewable integration into power systems".
